We often think our experience is dictated by what happens to us, but it isn’t. Our experience is simply OUR feelings in response to what is happening. This is an important recognition and distinction on our path of self actualization and healing. We recreate situations over and over again that confirm what we believe, want, and need; negatively and positively. We consciously create positive experiences like exercising to feel good, but unfortunately the negative is usually subconsciously. This is most obvious in abusive relationships or unhappy situations, and we all do it in varying degrees or at different levels. We find ourselves trying to change what is outside of us, thinking if we just change our circumstances; find the “right” partner, “right” job, this or that, we won’t find ourselves in that experience again. Well, we will. Until we change our frequency, why we attract those things, we will continue to experience them. There is something inside of us we need to heal and will continue to bring those things to us that will confirm our brokenness.
