The main thing that separates a man and woman from being “friends” is sex…

The main thing that separates a man and woman from being “friends” is sex. Sex throughout history has caused many issues, pain, suffering, and conflict in experiencing healthy love, and in relationships. Men, generally in heterosexual relationships, experience love through the physical, and express love through the emotional. Women conversely, experience love through the emotional, and express love through the physical. This is the major difference. We simply express and experience love differently. Sex and physical intimacy ultimately means different things to a man versus a woman (but is also the true balance between male and female energy, Yin. Yang*). If this was a conscious factor when starting or participating in a relationship, sex would lose its “power” in disrupting the interchange of love. It would be an expression of love rather than a determinant… Sex or physically merging is a beautiful way to share yourself with another being, but often we confuse it as love alone. They are not synonymous… (this also applies to homosexual relationships depending on the male female energy balance between the partners but is excluded here on purpose). © Jodi Healy

*Wikipedia: “In Chinese philosophy, the concept of yin-yang…is used to describe how opposite or contrary forces are interconnected and interdependent in the natural world; and, how they give rise to each other as they interrelate to one another. Many natural dualities (such as light and dark, high and low, hot and cold, fire and water, life and death, and so on) are thought of as physical manifestations of the yin-yang concept.”
