Something I wrote months ago resurfaced and showed up on someone else’s post with no reference or credit back to its source… Plagiarism? Yes. Most people would aggressively try to track down who “stole” it, prove them wrong, and get retribution. Why? Ego. The need to be unique, to be seen, recognized, acknowledged, separate… How important is it, really, to get credit for something? Maybe just knowing you created something important enough for someone to copy is enough… My mother asked me, “what do you get out of it” (referring to blogging). I do it because if I can help one person shift even just a little, and if what I say resonates with you, then I have accomplished something great… Since we are all the same energy, part of one collective consciousness and source, I don’t really own any of it. I am just a translator… and I am happy that I have that gift… That is enough for me.
